New writing has led to new publications and appearances in new markets in 2026.
In January, Year of the Goblin was published in Brilliant Flash Fiction, and in February, Rabbits was picked up and published by HAWKEYE Magazine.
Year of the Goblin follows a narrator in the wake of the death of a young cousin, detailing and grappling with his family’s struggle with the loss.
Rabbits came to life after wrestling with my obsession with time and memory. How sometimes not knowing and what we don’t remember are what fuel our ability to keep going. The tide is always coming in and out.
Of the two, Year of the Goblin follows a more traditional structure, following our narrator over the course of a year. Rabbits, however, takes a shot at structure, attempting to replicate the experience of being a pocket of unreliable memories (in other words, human).
