Flash Fiction Publication

This past October, my flash fiction story There Was a Killing in It was published by Peatsmoke Journal.

The story is centered around a conversation between two construction workers after a long shift. Take a sit, crack a beer, and have a think about working, living, and death.

It was an honor to have it up among so much other interesting writing. Check it out through the link above.

About Peatsmoke Journal

Peatsmoke Journal was created by Wendy Wallace and Bess Cooley when they met at the MFA program at Purdue University. They both worked on Sycamore Review, Wendy as fiction editor and Bess as managing editor. In the summer of 2018, they decided to work together to create an online journal full of fresh and exciting poetry and prose.

Work that has appeared in Peatsmoke has been chosen for Best Small Fictions, the PEN/Robert J. Dau Short Story Award for Emerging Writers, Best Microfictions, and The Slowdown podcast. Several pieces have also been chosen as finalists for Best of the Net and Wigleaf Top 50.

Next Up: The Hooghly Review

Coming up in January, White Elephant will be published in The Hooghly Review. The flash fiction piece takes a look in on a family’s Christmas celebration and what happens when a unique present appears in their traditional White Elephant Christmas gift exchange.
